New signings boost St. Dennis ahead of their contesting season

St Dennis Band are delighted to announce some new signings ahead of a busy contesting year. Firstly the Band see the return of Jacob Pritchard on Eb Bass. Jacob graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama last year. During his time there, he was a member of the Tredegar Band Band. He also currently holds the position of Musical Director with Cwmbran Brass. Jacob will perform with St Dennis at Yeovil Contest next month and is looking forward to the challenges of 2014.
Richard Jones, a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is a welcomed addition to the cornet section. During his time in Wales, Richard played cornet with a number of Championship Section bands and as a professional trumpet player with leading Orchestra's. Richard is currently Head of Music at Penrice Community College.
Professional Musical Director Darren Hawken commented, 'Richard is a first class signing and shows real intent for this fine band to push on to the next level. It has taken some time to identify and wait for the right players to strengthen the band, however, I'm delighted the fruits of our labours are finally paying off. This is a fantastic boost ahead of the busy forthcoming contest season.'
The band are currently preparing for the Yeovil Entertainment Contest and the West of England Regional Championships.
