More news from Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band
Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band is sad to announce that after a great 3 years with the band, Steve Thompson has decided to call time on his tenure as the band’s 1st horn player.
Steve is relocating as part of his work commitments and feels it is an appropriate time to take a step back from top level banding.
Steve commentated, ‘Carlton Main is a great group of people who I am proud to have played with. Leaving the band has already proved to be emotional and difficult, but I will always be supporting them wherever they perform.’
A spokesman for Carlton Main added: ?
"We would like to put on record its sincere thanks to Steve for everything he has done for the band, both on the stage, in the band room and in his role as business manager. Steve has been an integral part of the band’s recent contest successes including the Yorkshire Area win and 3rd place at the National Championships of Great Britain. The band wishes Steve all the best in his future endeavours and hopes he won’t be a stranger to the band room"
