Weymouth Concert Brass is pleased to announce the appointments of Helen Brind LRSM DipABRSM CTABRSM PGCE as Musical Director, Keith Espin as Deputy Musical Director, and Philip George as President.
Helen has been working with the Band for several weeks on an interim basis and we are delighted that she has accepted the offer of the permanent role. Helen comes to the Band with extensive experience in performing, teaching and leading brass ensembles, choirs, orchestras and musical theatre groups.
Keith also has many years experience in conducting brass bands and performing within a wide range of musical ensembles, covering all genres of music. Keith was the Musical Director of Corby Silver Band between 2006-2009, and 2011-2013.
For the first time in the Band’s history, we are proud to announce that we have appointed a President. Philip George retired from playing in September 2018 after being in the Band for 26 years. Philip has always been an asset to the Band and we wanted to honour his dedication and commitment. We are really pleased that he has accepted our invitation.
Helen, Keith and Philip are fine musicians with excellent knowledge of brass band music. The future looks really bright and we are looking forward to working with them in their new roles.
If you would like to know more about joining the Band, please contact our Secretary at weymouthconcertbrass@gmail.com. We rehearse every Thursday from 19:30-21:30 at the Compass, Chickerell Road, Weymouth, DT4 0QU.
